Running "External Tools" in Textpad

I use Textpad for writing documents in LaTeX. I specify the processing commands as "external tools". There is something annoying with textpad though: each time I run a tool, I have to click again in the main window to be able to run another tool command, otherwise I get an error. This was not an issue in older versions of Textpad. Is there a workaround, or could you please fix this?
