Hi everybody,
I've just installed TP 4.6.2 over my previous versione 4.5, end I've noticed the following problem.
In an Explorer window, if you right-click a file you get a context menu containing a 'Textpad' item (it was so in 4.5 too). After installing 4.6.2, every time I choose that item, a new Textpad window is started, whereas in 4.5 the new file selected was opened as an additional file in the last Textpad window opened.
I guess the problem might lie in a different DDE activation interface, or an erroneous setting implemented by the new setup.
Any idea how to fix it?
Thanks in advance.

From the Main Menu select Configure, Preferences.
Select the General page. Uncheck Allow multiple instances to run.

Re: DDE problem? Different behaviour of the Textpad context
Well,
I didn't want to go that far. With this flag set, you cannot keep two TextPad instances open anymore (i.e. I often need to keep two workspaces open at the same time,)
I'd like to know if someone knows how to restore the 4.5 behaviour regarding DDE activation from the Windows Shell.
Bye
Angelo.

Re: DDE problem? Different behaviour of the Textpad context
Have you tried the TextPad Add-On utility named DDE? It looks like it was designed specifically for this issue. I have not used it myself, but was was just there browsing the utilities for some help with DDE and the syntax to use with TextPad.
(I did not find the help I needed). Hope this helps......
