TP iso NotePad

Replacing NotePad with TextPad (and renaming it notepad.exe) on the windows/winnt root folder does allow me to use tp instead of notepad, but a 'blank' version of TextPad runs.
Last time I did that , it erased all macros and keyboard shortcuts.
I would like TP to reside in it's program files folder, and call a 'shortcut' to it by calling notepad. Any way that can be done (while keeping settings of installed and configured version) ?

There are several versions of TPX LINK which does the trick.
