default tabs configuration

Does any body know how to save current document's properties to the default one? This way I'd like to change the tabs length from 8 to 4...for ever.

Use menu

Configure, Preferences

Expand the node Document Classes and subnode Default
Click on Tabulation and change things in right panel.
