Match Whole Words Greyed out

I'm running TextPad 4.5 32 bit and the match whole words selection
in the Fin and/or Replace Text box is greyed out. I have tried numerous settings and it does not allow me to select it. What setting do I need to allow match whole words to work?

You need to type in whole words (alphanumeric) in the find box. No punctuation or spaces or the box will be grayed out.
