Full screen only

Post by sandlizard »

Windows 10/64 up-to-date / TextPad 9.5.2

My previous Vers. 8.xxxx started to be visible at full screen only, appearing to minimize behind the lower task bar at the bottom of the Windows desktop when the program opened. If I open TextPad, the thumbnail on the taskbar shows the program to be open by displaying a TextPad File thumbnail. If I right-click on the file thumbnail and click maximize, the file will display on the full screen. When I click on the two little squares to reduce the file display size, it fully minimizes, so I can use TextPad only at full screen.

I use TextPad as a composition tool and keep it at partial screen sizw to and drag and drop or copy/paste text from TP to Word, InDesign, Illustrator or other programs, so full-screen only does not work for my workflow. I unistalled the TP V8.xxxx and installed V 9.5.2 and got the same results.

Can anyone help?

Thanks to those who know more that me,
Joe

Do you have a non-standard shell, as the default one does not have an option to maximize the window on its context menu?

TextPad has a maximize/restore button next to the X which can be used to close it on its title bar.

Yes, my IT guy installed a non-MS shell years ago.
I just found the solution. I went to the taskbar settings and checked "Hide Taskbar in Desktop Mode," and the TP interface immediately displayed. I opened taskbar settings and unchecked "hide taskbar" and the TP interface stayed. I closed TP and reopened it and it works normally.

Thanks for your response,
Joe
