Save file with first line as file name

Post by damienf »

Is there an option or setting for Textpad to save a file with the first line as file name?

There isn't an option to include the file name when saving a file, but you can insert the file name from the Edit menu Insert/File name. You can create a keyboard shortcut for this option under Configure/Preferences/Keyboard.

I hope this helps.

I did understand the question completely different.

I thought Damien wanted to create a new document, type in some lines of text, and then save it, using the content of the first line as filename.

e.g. when the text of the new file is

Code: Select all

this is some text
which is in the file
then saving the file would result in a file named "this is some text.txt"

I understood the question the same as MudGuard. But the answer is the same: can't be done :)

The question goes as stated by MudGuard.

I would find this option useful.
