I am running 7.5 now (hoped it would fix problem, does not). I actually want multiple instances and cannot get it to work consistently. It will work once, meaning I have an instance for each file I open, then it stops and I get everyone opened in one instance. I am on 64 bit, have "allow multiple instances to run" checked. I played around with turning "replace notepad" and "context menu" on and off based on other posts but still cannot get textpad to use multiple instances. Please tell me what I am missing.
Thank you.
Multiple Instances

1) open from shortcut
if you open textpad from the windows startmenu or a desktop shortcut (and not by doubleclicking a file in explorer) following workaround could help:
textpad offers command line options => see online help
-m stands for multiple
so textpad.exe -m will open a new instance independent from your settings.
I add -m in the windows shortcut of the startmenu so clicking it starts a new instance of textpad
2) opening from Explorer with rightclick (Context menu)
Textpad (7.5.1 64 bit at least) offers the choice to open the file in one of the open instances or in a new instance. (preferences/general [? - writing from a LInux PC without Textpad] Contextmenu has to be set)
