Opening from Context Menu SLOW?

Post by lklawrie »

When I try to right click and open a file from the context menu (no matter of file size), it is so SLOW. so SLOW that sometimes I think the computer has stopped.

Any ideas on how to fix?

Will it help to uninstall/reinstall on this computer?

It looks a lot like this known problem, several years on:

I wish someone would post and idea or solution here. I'm considering giving up textpad because of it. After a long usage.

I have made some improvements -- by editing the registry and removing/changing all the old references to the current textpad path.

It only went "non responsive" for a significant time once today.

Also did a repair installation but haven't looked at the registry after that.

I have the same problem.

I have happened on other computers but uninstalling and installing was solved.

But this time is not possible.

Any solution?

That parts of the registration is recommended to see a solution.

thank you very much

Solve the problem!

I uninstalled Acronis True Image and textpad works correctly from the context menu.

I formatted the computer and I was installing apliaciones. When I install the Acronis True Image, I discovered the problem with textpad.

However, I have other computers with acronis and textpad working properly. Although solve my problem, I still do not understand.

The instructions for removing Windows integration in Acronis True Image Home worked a treat and I can now edit files again fine.

I have just installed Textpad 7.5.1 and the context SLOW problem seems to be gone.

FYI, I also have Acronis True Image -- never thought to try uninstalling it and missed these updates.
