Problems with DOS character sets, display, etc. in 6.1.3

Post by mczajka »

We use DOS encoding/PC compatibility on most files for a legacy system. We also have various clip files and they use a CHARSET=DOS. In previous versions, the bell character (HEX 07) would display as a bullet everywhere. It still does in the main document window, but not in the clip file window, or the find box. We also use the null character for things (HEX FF). This used to display as a space, but now it displays as a ÿ (y with 2 dots above). Is this a bug?

Also, previous clip files we had created with TP4, using the null character, when opened, change the null character to a (HEX A0).

Null character handling is a real problem

TP6 is converting null characters authored in TP4.5.3 with a HEX A0, which is a real problem for our current workflows.
