I lost my find and my find and replace window

Post by Johan »

Somehow the find boxes are opening relative to the window on the screen. When you've opened the window, and you move the application around on the screen for a bit, and switch from one search window to the other (for instance between the search and the search and replace box) the window will go beyond the screenborders and is lost...

is there any thing i can do about this?

go to the edit menu and open the find or find/replace dialog.

If it is invisible, press ALT+Space.
If the dialog is outside the screen, a context menu appears somewhere on the screen (usually top left corner) with an option to "move".

Select it, then press one of the cursor keys.

Now the dialog should appear at the mouse cursor.
Move the mouse around (with the dialog following the mouse) to where you would like the dialog to be.

Click left mouse button.

Yes this is helpful. I already closed and reopened textpad, that helped too. This is easier.

Maybe a addition for other people with this problem; if the context menu is also not visible just hit 'enter' that option is by default selected.
