BUG? Auto-save with new files creates many Save As dialogs

Post by AZJohnW »

I have the auto save feature turned on (Backup -> automatically save every 10 minutes) and left a new document (Document 3) open with some text entered. As expected, the Save As dialog pops up after ~10 minutes. Unfortunately, if you leave it for another 10 minutes, you'll see there are 2 Save As dialogs (and they will continue to reproduce every 10 minutes, based on the backup setting). If you leave it like that for an extended period, you'll eventually get an error message when you attempt to cancel out of the Save As dialog boxes:

"A common dialog box returned error 0x0002
Please notify support@textpad.com
Try restarting first TextPad, then Windows."

Proposed solution: Either 1) save the document as Document3 or whatever the temporary file name happens to be in the document selector or 2) check to see if there is already a Save As dialog up and don't pop-up more than one.

I've had the same experience, except I did it with three new docs and left it overnight. I didn't have the exception, though.

@TextPad: Is there a fix for this yet? If not, when is one expected?
