"Due to a software update ..." Message after progr

Post by dhesmer »

Some days ago I updated to Textpad 5.4. Since then I get at every start of Textpad the Message:
"Due to a software update the tool bar 'Menu bar' has changed. Would you like to reset your customized toolbar and load the new one?"
Independing of pushing the Yes or No button, the message shows up at every start.
Any idea how to overcome this stupid situation?

Please try renaming the file config.xml, which you will find at one of the following locations, and then try starting up TextPad. Exit from TextPad before renaming the file.

C:\Documents and Settings\User name\Application Data\Helios\TextPad\5.0

In Vista and windows 7 its stored here:

C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Helios\TextPad\5.0.

I hope this helps.

Sorry, there is only the file "config-700.xml" dated 31.01.2010 18:43, which I renamed. But no change.
I also de-installed the whole textpad and installed it again. Now I get a 2nd message - same as 1st - but for toolbar 'Tools'.

Having the same problem

Did you manage to find a solution ? Renaming the XML file didn't help.
A very annoying problem

Not at all.
btw: Installing Textpad on a new disc will NOT show the problem.

I am also having this issue- was there ever a resolution? Mine occurs intermittently perhaps depending on how TextPad is started? It can be quite annoying.
