Word Wrap

Post by chris789 »

Is there a way that each time I open a new document that it automatically word wraps. Right now I have to manually click the button to word wrap.

Thanks,
Chris

I was going to post the same question before I found this one.

Any answers?

Thanks,

Yes, you can:

1. Click Configure > Preferences.
2. Click the plus sign (+) next to Document Classes.
3. Click Default.
3. Select Word wrap long lines.

You can repeat this for other document classes as required.

Thanks for the reply.

I just took a look and I already have the box checked and it doesn't work for either typed text or pasted text :(

Configure/word wrap works as does the icon.

keep word wrap on

I have found that you need to set the preferences when all documents are closed. Then restart TextPad and settings will be retained.

word wrap

I found nothing as suggested.
Finally I turned on the Standard Tool Bars,
under View => Toolbars, and
clicked WordWrap Icon.

Then, to save the space of the tool bar,
I turned it off.

Possible Solution?

Post by Mike Olds »

Hello,

I have this same issue on a new computer, Windows 7 64 bit.

I have tried closing all open instances; clicking the button; selecting the option in Configure; checking 'word-wrap long lines' in the default.

Hello again. Just after posting I thought I would mess around and came up with something that at lest at this time looks like a solution:

Close all open instances
Go To Configure>Preferences>Document Classes>Default
and UNCLICK "Word Break at Column"
Close down>Open up and Click the Button in Configure
Return to Configure>Preferences>Document Classes>Default and CLICK "Word break at ..."

This process from memory which is going fast, so the idea was to undo and redo to sort of give it a nudge; you might have to try that a different way.

PS: I find I am liking Windows 7 64 bit a lot: everything just seems to work. TextPad loaded and with this issue resolved has been installed without a problem. I am also totally blown away by 24GB of RAM and 2.5 Terabytes of Disk Memory. Wow, the world has changed.
Thank you, and
Best Wishes,
Obo
