When I run Textpad, the sidebar is not opened. If I try to open it using CTRL-F3 nothing happens, while selecting "View - Clip Library" with the mouse the program halts, as follows. I get an "Unexpected and Unrecoverable Error. Would you like to save a diagnostic file?" pop-up question-box, after which the Textpad process is terminated.
This -might- have been started right after I rebooted without closing all my programs manually. I'm wondering if some of my clip/workspace files are corrupted, but I think I've ruled that out.
I'm running on Win7 with a newly licensed copy of Textpad. I use it almost exclusively for my employment, hopefully I'm not down too long.
Please try renaming the file config.xml, which you will find at one of the following locations, and then try starting up TextPad. Exit from TextPad before renaming the file.
The suggested fix worked. For future reference, is there a way to avoid this happening in the future (I've had it happen twice already). Does Win7 doing force close on Textpad corrupt config.xml?
I suppose I could make a backup of config.xml after I get my settings configured to my liking.
