Hi.
I cannot add an external tool to textpad. I cannot expand the Tools tree in Configure/Preferences. I cannot click into the tools window to create a new tool.
I thought it might be permissions, but I am still having problems when I start Textpad.exe run as an administrator.
I am a licensed user of Textpad and I am running Textpad 5.4 on Windows Server 2008.
I appreciate any help anyone can provide.
Thanks,
S.D.

Restrict User Capabilities ("Add" button missing)
Yo MudGuard and duckus, can you be a little more specific?
I think I have the same problem... I sent this to tech support, but I doubt if I will get an answer:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Read help, searched forum, FAQ, Tips, etc.
Checked registry, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Helios\Textpad 5\Polilcy does not exist.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Helios\TextPad 5\Policy doesn't exist either.
Added both and set to 0
Still can't add a tool because the "Add" button does not appear in the Preferences dialog box when clicking on/selecting "Tools" in the tree.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hoped that since the keys didn't exist, adding them and setting them to 0 might help, but it didn't.
By the way, I'm using Windows XP, SP3, TextPad 5.4.
Any ideas?

Good News!!!
I figured out (by accident) a workaround.
All you have to do is Left-Click in the blank gray area where the "Add" button is supposed to be, and you'll get a context menu that lets you add tools.
If you haven't seen a picture of it in Help yet, it's located (centered) just above the words, "Use this form to add, delete,..." on the Right side of the Preferences dialog box.
Hope this helps, FG.
PS: While typing this, I got a reply from Tech Support, telling me to download the latest version of TextPad to see if it helps.
