Open document in new window/instance

Let's say I want to open .sqr files in TextPad. I go to Configure > Preferences > Associated Files and add the .sqr extension. I open Explorer and navigate to a folder with a bunch of .sqr files. I double-click file1.sqr. Up comes TextPad with file1.sqr. I go back to Explorer and double-click file2.sqr. Up comes the SAME TextPad window with file2.sqr. It's much more convenient to open documents in a new TextPad instance. The only way I've found to fix this is to dig through the registry, remove the DDE entry, and change the "Open" command in Windows 7 or remove the DDE information from the File Types dialog in XP. Is there an easier way?
