Document tabs not refreshing

Post by randerson »

I'm having a problem with the document tabs not refreshing. What I mean is that after I open Textpad with a few documents (six or so), after a while the document tabs seem to disappear and bits of whatever window used to be on top of Textpad shows where the document tabs are supposed to be. If I mouse-over where the tabs are supposed to be they refresh. This effect extents to the Active Documents drop down arrow and the little close button.

I work in a small office with several other Textpad users; I seem to be only one with this problem. I did a search on this forum and didn't find anything related.

The only thing I can think of that might have an influence is that one of my Textpad windows has several very large log files open which take a few seconds to Auto-Reload. Perhaps the document tab refresh code gets shut off while reloading files and doens't get turned back on?

Has anyone else seen this problem? Anyone have a solution?

I'm using Textpad 5.3.1

One thing I forgot to mention is that the document tabs do refresh individually as I move the mouse over them.

Also, the defect seems to come and go; meaning that sometimes the doucment tabs refresh just fine and sometimes they don't. I had the same two TextPad windows open, with the same set of documents loaded in both.

I wish I could get a screen-shot to show what I'm talking about, as I suspect I'm the only person who has this problem.

I've discovered that my problem is related to running low on resources; if I close a bunch of stuff, TextPad recovers and is able to display document tabs normally again. I think its related to my inabilty to do proper screen captures; when TextPad is acting up, attempts to do a screen capture result in a muddled black and white capture. When TextPad is working, screen capture is working.
