Cannot change Open and Save As files of type setting/solved?

New 5.3.1 install

I am unable to set the Open and Save As files of type box. It always comes up Clip Library type.

I did read the help file. I found it was necessary not only to open a new instance of TextPad, without a blank document, with no other instances open, and then actually open a file with *.* selected.

Just changing the setting, clicking 'apply' and closing did not change the setting.
