Word-wrap width?

Post by gordon »

Ten years of Textpad use. Word-wrap always worked good, then about a month or 2 ago, word-wrap started changing in width. The text is wrapped way before it gets to the right edge of the page, and sometimes it wraps beyond the page edge.

This only recently started happening (version 4).

I upgraded to version 5, and the same thing is happening.

Never happened for 10 years.

What is up?

Try resetting the Word wrap column for the Default Document Class:

1) From the Configure menu, choose Preferences.
2) Click the "+" next to Document Classes.
3) Select "Default".
4) Check "Word wrap long lines".
5) Check "Word wrap at column number", and type the required number in the box.
6) Click Apply/OK.

I hope this helps.

That helped, and it seems to be working great now.

I un-checked the "Word break at column number" box.

Come to think of it, I had a nasty virus removed a few months ago, and that could have been what messed-up the configuration variables for Textpad in the registry.

Thanks!

That probably explains why some of my other programs started to act weird. I finally had to initialize my PC and reload everything.

With all these punk virus developers out there, I guess there is bound to be something that the latest antivirus can't pick-out until it is too late.

I hope a virus developer's PC gets trashed by a virus from one of their own.
