Control Chatacters don't display in Vista

Post by MichaelBeranek »

When I try to insert the control character ("ascii 28") into a file on my windows vista pc it does not display, when I use tp on my xp machine, it's fine. has anyone run into this before or is there something I'm not doing on the vista that is causing the problem?

If it still inserts it, but doesn't display you will need to chose a different font for the document class.

Either right click in the background or go through Configuration, options route and try a new font. I'm on my Mac and too lazy to fire up the windows VM.

At any rate, examine the font used on your XP machine for this document class and set the Vista font to be the same and you should be able to see the control characters again.

I have seen the same problem and using another text editor and the same font it's working correctly. So i'm not so sure this is a font or Windows issue, but rather a textpad issue.
