Document Tabs, Window tiling, synchronized scroll in 5.2

Using 5.2 with XP Professional, I would like NOT to have to click off View Document Tabs to get synchronized scrolling with two text files tiled.

In general, the less clicking, the better.

4.7 did not need its document tabs clicked off.

On another topic, those pushpins on the Search window that scrolls up and down at will are really annoying. I'd like that window to go away when I want it to without losing its contents.
