Make regexp input easier to read

Post by pao13gate »

Regexps are undoughtably extremely useful.
However, the input fields for them ("Find what:" and "Replace with:") are too small and with the current font size and spacing it is not easy to work with regexps.

I would like the font size to be slightly higher, and characters to be spaced slightly more!

Put your mouse pointer over the right edge of the find/replace dialog. Push left mouse button (don't release it yet).
Move mouse pointer to the right.
Release mouse button.

This should solve the size problem (in 5.x).

Regular expressions are text. You have a good text editor close at hand while you are constructing one. You can open a scratch document of any size and with any font size, and construct your regular expression in it. I do this all the time.

That is exactly what I do. Especially since the Search/Replace dialog does NOT expand for the version I use. (Not switched to 5 yet.)
