Edit Large files (>1.5GB)

Post by mef526 »

I have trouble opening a very large text file: 1.5 GB and bigger. I get the a message box: "Disk full while accessing 'file'"

There is plenty of room on the disk, so I figure it is a limitation of textpad. Is there a way I can configure textpad to read these huge files?

I am looking at UltraEdit and it has a setting to turn off temp files even though it means that edits are in real time and the file is changed as you type since the screen is really the data on the hard disk.

This been discussed in this forum several times already and search would have given you the answer. Try this:

There is no way to get around this limit using textpad. There are several other good text editors available that can handle files without any size limit or a limit that is way beyond textpad. Currently you need another text editor if the files is to big for textpad.
