Vista does not show "Textpad" in context menu

Post by svivian »

How do I get the simple "Textpad" link in my context menu, in v5 on Vista? The options is checked in Preferences>General. I've tried running as Administrator too in case it was that, but no luck.

I really love that context shortcut, it made my life so much easier when Windows decides that a file shouldn't have an "Open With" menu (one of many Windows annoyances).

Try this:

go to textpad preferences, _UN_check the thing.
Ok your way out of Textpad.

go to textpad preferences again, now CHECK the thing.
Ok your way out of Textpad again.

If this doesn't help, repeat in Admin account ...

Yeah I already tried that, it didn't work.

No matter though; I've gone back to 4.7.3 anyway because TP kept crashing on a regex search - in 4.7.3 I just get "recursion too deep" message but can carry on!

The context menu thing appears fine in v4.

I am having the same issue - How do I get the simple "Textpad" link in my context menu, in v5 on Vista?

I tried both mentioned above. I want to use version 5 only. Does anybody know the solution?

Try THIS.

Don't forget that the forum Search function is your friend.
