deleting the file opened

Post by jicman »

Greetings.

I have a problem. I have to open a bunch of files and if they are translated, I want to delete them. If they are not, I would like to keep them. So, if I open 20 files, I would like to delete the ones that are translated, and the ones that are not, just close them. Is this possible with TextPad 4.7.3?

thanks for the quick response. By the way, I have to go through 174 files. Not 10. :-)

thanks.

How to ID if they have been translated? Has a keyword/phrase?

General approach:
Search for a keyword, if found means translation is done, should be deleted.

Create a macro to Search and Delete and Close without saving.
Assing a hot key to the macro
Now run the macro when each file is opened.
Hope this was helpful.............good luck,
Bob

The problem is that I need to look through it. So, is there a command to delete the file that I have opened and? I could create a macro with that.

thanks.

thanks.

It would be nice that an X icon may be added to the File Toolbar that would delete the file. If I am not mistaken, this used to be part of TextPad back in the days. Maybe I am wrong, but I remember that on some editor and I have been using TextPad for over 8 years. I even have the 3.5 installer. :-)

Anyway, thanks for all the help.
