Imported a file to textpad. want to know what the white space at the end of each lline contains. Textpad finds blank for some lines only.
Also want to find what other white spaces have. Need to add strings after the last word in each line.

If you want people to help you, you have to help them understand what you want.

Tried with all the three selected and not selected also. Still all the white spaces show as white spaces. do not see any special chars.

What are these characters? Open the file in binary format and have a look.

What class of file are you looking at?
do not see any special chars.
What do mean be special characters? Explain or show example.

Did you press END to go to the end of each line?
Hope this was helpful.............good luck,
Bob

In binary shows up as hex 0D0A namely LR and LF

Zerubbabel See - 371M3f Index

Category Index

A

But the blank lines does not show up in binary file, why?

But textpad find ^\n highlights first position of a blank line in txt file!
Is \n is LF?

Thanks for directing me to binary lookup. learned something new!

How to insert a string at the end of these lines?

Appreciate your help.

Opened a text file (class?) sent by another person. Do not know whether they did END after each line.

Please see my previous reply. Thanks.

Hi Bob, Ben
Also found out in DOS CR/LF separates the lines! Too tech for me!
Now I am half-baked one! Did I buy textpad to learn this! Good investment!
