Current Line coloring = Removing dashed line above and below

Im using textpad 5.0.2 32-bit on my XP-64 bit box. I modified the document class = TXT color so that the current line is now greenish but now there is a dashed overline and underline for the current line of text.

Is there any way to remove this annoying dashed appearance above and below my current line but keeping the line coloring?

Not that I know of.
Seems like there's a bug here.

When you choose current line highlighting, (under Configure, Preferences, View, untick 'Highlight the line containing the cursor') then it will use the colors defined in (Configure, Preferences, Document Classes, (the class you want to change), Colors, Current line), for the current line. The foreground color is used for the dashes top and bottom, and the background color is used for the background shading. I tried setting the foreground and background colors the same, but it actually resets the foreground color (and therefore the dashed line) to a different color.

Seems your best bet would be to set the foreground color to nearly the same but different color (use custom colors).

Configure / Preferences/Document Classes
For each class choose "Colors".

Select "Current Line" in the "Item" box, then set its colors as you desire.

I don't think the issue is actually setting the color, rather the issue is setting of the dashed line. I think the original poster wants the line highlighting color, but without the dashed line above and below the current line.

Try setting the current line color foreground and background to the same color to see the bug I identified.

Under "Preferences" -> View there is a check box for "Highlight the line containing the cursor" - uncheck it.

This has been answered before sometime ago and is probably hard to search the forum for.

Tools > Preferences > Document classes > [your class] > Colors
Select "Current Line"
Since you can't set the foreground and background color to the same value, either set foreground to white, or to a color very close to background, as peterl suggested. for instance:
foreground: 225,235,224
background: 225,235,223
