What version of TextPad are you currently running?

I was curious to see what proportion of users have now switched to TextPad 5.X or whether many have remained with the earlier version or even switched back.

Which option should I select?
On one machine I run Textpad 5.03, on the other 4.73.

I would opt for the highest version you are happy to run. I'd be interested in why one would run two variants – a system compatibility issue?

I'm back to 4.7.3. This will work better than the new release...

Hello,

I'm testing Version 5+, but in "production" I've switched back to 4.7.3.

My most missed and therefore most wished enhancements are:
1.) Search enhancements
- The "Search in Files" should be possible also only for the actual file.
- Additional the search results should be presented vertically aligned (after filename and row), so I could use the block mode and copy columns text into the clipboard ...
So, both would probably be very easy to implement features!
- Search only in marked text

2.) Code folding
3.) Editable macros

Textpad is still a great text editor. But it seems, that 5.x is not so stable as 4.7.3. That's the reason, why I'm waiting

Choosing words with care...

I'm still testing 5.0.3 and waiting to see what more significant enhancements the promised planned series of upgrades to TextPad this year brings.

Rather than switch back to 4.7.3, I'm making much more use of another application (with Unicode support) for my general text editing needs.

Still using 4

I tried version 5 and quickly reverted back to version 4 due to (a) many UI changes that made 5 less usable (I prefer my search and command results in a "document", instead of chewing up valuable screen real estate in a uselessly small window at the bottom, (b) lack of any real features I required, like editable macros and Unicode support, and (c) some disturbingly unstable behavior.

I'm still waiting for the localized version of TextPad 5.
