TextPad 5.0.3

Post by daemonui »

One big bug:
It's not possible to customize the menu.
Adding items by drag&drop never succeeds.
But clicking some items, drop them immediately!
The only way to get them back is to delete the config.xml.

BTW: It shoult be possible to put tools into a noncascaded menu!

Also I'd like to dock the search results in the document area.

This is my experience too. But what do you mean by "but clicking some items, drop them immediately!" How do you do that? Click on the desired command in the Command dialog box and then click again on the target menu?

The problem with customizing menus has been confirmed by techsupport. Here's their full reply to my email:
Hello Gautam,

You are right about this, so thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Subject: TextPad 5.0.3 Bug Report: Cannot add commands to a new menu

From: Gautam Patel
Classification: Bug Report
Version: 5.0.3
Reproducible: 1
Operating System: Windows XP
Service Pack: 2
Printer Model:
Printer Driver:
Message:

I can create a new menu by using the right-click and customize option; but I
cannot add a single command from the Command dialog to that new menu. The
forums report that this was a problem with custom *toolbars* in the previous
release and has now been fixed in 5.0.3; but it now just seems that the
problem has been translocated from custom toolbars to custom menus.
Hopefully, this will be resolved soon.

Sorry for late response...
What I meant is, that as soon as one of the customized menu items gets activated it disappears from the menu.
