Why won't standard recent file accelerator work?

alt+f 1 for instance - I see recent files with numbers underlined next to their paths...
confused.

The ALT+F accelerators work for me. However, I have another problem that may be related.

I have a macro called "Strip Leading &> Signs" (the ampersand indicates the keyboard accelerator, so it appears as "Strip Leading > Signs").

In v4.5.3 I used to be able to run this macro with ALT+M+> but this key sequence no longer works in v5.0.3. The ALT+M opens the Macros menu, but the > no longer runs the macro.
