How to set width

Post by Tom Simon »

I am using TextPad 5.0.2 with Windows XP. When I was using the prior version of TextPad I would type in documents and they would default to what I believe was a page width of 80. Now it seems to default to something less, probably 65. How do I set it to default to 80? I have tried everything --- help file, forums, configure preferences, etc. I think it is most likely a very simple adjustment, but I just cannot determine how to do it.

Width is set for each class.

Close all other copies of TextPad, so only one is open
Close all documents including any default new document.
From the Main Menu:
Configure/Preferences/Document Classes.
For each class that you want to change, fill in the value for the Word break at column number.
Apply/OK
Close and reopen TextPad.
Hope this was helpful.............good luck,
Bob

I tried that and it helped a great deal. I had to experiment with the niumber for the column width, but finally found something that was at least workable. Thank you so much for your help.
