I sorely miss this feature in the new version. The 'Split' feature doesn't quite compare for a couple of reasons:
- Separate scrolling. With 'Tile' I could scroll independently within each document, without having to even click within the window. With 'Split' all the documents scroll at the same time. This is inconvenient as far as 'marking your spot' is concerned.
- Line numbers. Either they don't show up in either document or they only show up in the one on the left. This feature is imperative to me, since I do line-by-line comparisons of documents.
- It's not instant. I can't just push a button and the different documents are tiled. I have to take the time to designate size and location myself. A small detail, but a time-efficient one...
Is this a temporary removal? Is the feature still in the current version and I've just missed it? If this feature really has been removed, please reconsider putting it back in! Thanks very much!

Hello pumkin... there have been a number of posts about this already. Scan or search this forum to find them. Here's one.

I appreciate finding your reply. It does indeed work if I turn off the document tabs. So now the people in my household will be happy that the naughty words have been turned off.helios wrote:The ability to tile windows is still there in TextPad 5, but it is disabled when the Document tabs are turned on.
However, I use tabs all the time to switch back and forth between documents, while at the same time, having the clip library available. So this new feature makes things a whole heck of a lot more difficult. I hope you all fix this soon.
