TextPad appearing to hang

Post by bryanleewilliams »

When I have the Explorer view open and open textpad, it appears to hang while Textpad is populating that frame. I have a massive number of mapped drives and a large network.

Is there any way to multithread this in such a way as too not do this.

I get hangs with Textpad 5 too... :-(

I've uninstalled Textpad 5 & reverted to 4.73, since my PC was hanging after installing it when running TP. It happened on 2 different XP SP2 systems.... Is this a reincarnation of the workaround implemented previously?

Does anyone have any idea of what is causing it?

I've the same problem: TextPad 5.0 hangs for several minutes when the Dockable File Explorer is selected. OS is Windows 2000.

Textpad5 hangs when explorer is selected from the view menu

Post by textam »

Textpad5 hangs when explorer is selected from the view menu or from the docable windows.
I was very interested to load my local drives in exolorer and can easy load the files in to textpad. but i am dissapointed when it hangs.
I tried to uninstall and install several times, but it just waste of time.
Please let me know, if you have fix/workaroound for this.

Just as an FYI, this improved significantly for me when I switched the 'start up' path in 'Preferences' -> 'Folders', to something local as opposed to a network drive.

Less than ideal, but at least it's usable.
