Russian and western letter in TextPAD

Post by Alexander654 »

I have a problem with textPAD 4.7.

Normally when writing a html page with text in western language I safe it in the ansi mode.

When I want to mix Western and Russian (cyrrilic fonts) in one page I safe the html in the unicode mode.

TextPAD has big problems opening the same page again in unicode and leave the russian the way it was. TextPAD insist in recoding it to 1252 Ansi Latin.

The standard Windows text editor notepad does not show this problem. When safing a html in unicode (western language and russian mixed in one page) notepad has no problem opening it (only TextPAD has).

I have russian fonts installed, I have a mixed western/russian keyboard on my laptop, and I can write russian in notepad, MS Word, outlook express etc. So it is not an operating system's (windows xp) problem. It only counts for textPAD.

Hope some of you recognize this problem and has a solution.

Thanks

p.s. when you do not safe the page in unicode the russian letters transform into a bunch of questionmarks.
