TextPad 5 very slooow

I upgraded to TextPad 5 and TextPad opens very slowly. Much slower than my previous version (4.7).

Is it only me?
Is there a solution?
If not, and I want to return to the previous version, should I uninstall first, or can I install the old version over the new one?

If you have the Explorer tab enabled on startup, there may be a few seconds delay whilst Explorer is loaded. The solution is to have the Document selector or Clip library enabled for startup.

Yes, this solved the problem.
Does this mean that I have to take care each time I close TextPad to verify that the Explorer tab is not displayed, or is there a way to configure TextPad such that it will always be opened with the Document tab displayed?
