General questions about using TextPad

Going through configure/preferences, click on "associated files" and tp crashes with note: "TextPad has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Bug?

Please try exiting from TextPad ane then delete the following Registry key. You will have to redo the file associations:

I did that and then I started adding associations again, these worked
