find in files: keep "." in directory

Post by daemonui »

I often start searching in files relative to the current file. The trick I use to define the start directory is to
activate the "home" file, then
click find in files
the type "." in the directory field.

Unfortunately the "." gets replaced by the actual directory after clicking search.

I wished that the find in files dialog would remember the "." and maybe all reative paths without converting to full paths (Maybe remember both relative and full path).

You can fill the "Current working folder" into the "In folder" box by pressing the "Defaults" button.

Under "Configure - Preferences - General" you can select "Working folder follows active document".

I didn't know that! The functionality is cleverly disguised by an obscure name on the button.

Thanks!
