Is there a way to to have Textpad change the color of the characters that have been edited in a file? I am updating some files to current standards and I need to keep track of what in the file I have edited.

I don't think you will find a solution for that one. TextPad does not have that capability.
You could only do something like that by making a syntax file and updating it every time you changed a word, and even then all occurences of that word would be colored, not just the one you changed.
And when all done that document you would need to clear the syntax file, or delete it and make a new one for the next document that is edited.

Hope this was helpful.............good luck,

The only thing I can think to add is far from being a real-time solution. You could save the file as you work on it and run a compare using an application like the excellent BeyondCompare
