How to change the icon of text files to Text pad icon

Hi I have been using Textpad for the past 2 years.Recently i formatted my machine.After that my text files are not showing textpad icon as default.Please let me know what to do.I tried rightclicking-->openwith from contextmenu--->choose program---selecting Textpad as default but NOOP

please help me out.I am using 4.7 in windows2000

My computer > Folder Options > File Type
to Text Document
>Change Icon

Browse to whatever icon you want to use
