Drag and drop filenames onto active document

Post by deadfones »

Hi, I'm a registered user.

I'd like to be able to drag and drop filenames onto the active document, as opposed to opening the file in Textpad. I'd like this to be activated via a key combination, EG, an ALT+dragdrop would insert the full path and filename into the current document at the line in which the cursor (mouse) is located. If the cursor is below all available lines, add it to the last line. Also, if the cursor is below all available lines, an option to append a new line to the bottom and add the full path and filename to that would be nice.

Thank you.

As a workaround you could try the freeware utility CopyPath. This copies filename and/or path data to the clipboard. I tend to use it to paste links into internal emails rather than send attachments to multiple people. It can accommodate multiple files in a single operation.

Thanks. I actually have a small application in my Send To menu that does something similar.

Cheers.
