Hello,
Can you consider the option of using ESC for exiting the Textpad regularly?
Or at least the option of ascribing the ESC key to this function in the keyboard redefinitions? Now this key is not recognized in the redefinition field.
Thank you for the TextPad and for hearing my proposal.

Since ESC is used as an undo in so many programs, I would not want to see ESC used to exit TextPad.
=====================
But you CAN assign ESC to File Exit. I just tested that, and it works.
Close all other copies of TextPad.
Close all documents.
From the Main Menu: Configure/Preferences/Keyboard/
Categories=File
Command=FileExit
Press New Shortcut key = ESC
Assign/Apply/OK.
Exit TextPad and Start it again.
Press ESC will close TextPad.

Oh, thank you - I use the Keyboard Remapper all the time and when it is active, the ESC key is not inserted into the redefinition field of TP keyboard preferences - I don't want to know why. After your answer, I tried it with the Remapper deactivated and all was easy. Thank you for your hint.
