Document Selector and Search

Post by nathani »

It would be handy to have a project tabs in the document selector. For instance I'm working on multiple projects each consisting of 5-6 code files. It gets a little confusing, if I could groupe the files by project that would be awesome. Currently I open multiple instances of texpad.

Also the seach all documents feels a little strange. I'm not sure what the intent was on that, but I'm sure it has it's uses. My problem is that I'm working on an html project for a portable lcd screen and I need to search about 30 html pages for a give text string. It's ok if I tile the pages, but it still feels a little odd. There should be a search method option were it does what it currently does, or takes you to the text string on the given page.

Finally I have been working a bit with VB6 and if i copy an item in vb6 like a textbox or something the clipboard in textpad causes an error in vb6. I need to physically shut down textpad before it works, simply disabling the clipboard doesn't work. I don't expect this to be fixed, but if there was a way to disable the clipboard in texpad briefly i would be gratefull. Thanks alot, i love textpad,

I would agree with you to some extent. Doing a replace in all open documents is great but with a search it is hard to get to the results. Have a look at mu suggestion in a previous post and see if that helps.

I quite like the idea of the results of a search across a range of documents being presented as a list as in Find in files or as a side bar similar to the way later versions of Acrobat Reader present the results.
