Document Selector hovers around Documentnn after new files

If you have a bunch of files open, the document selector generally works nicely, sorting in alphabetic order. However, if you are viewing a file (call it X), then select File / New to create a new file in the same directory as X, you'll find that the document selector jumps down to Documentnn for the new file. So far, so good. Now, save the new file and name it, and you'll find that the document selector doesn't move back up.

This isn't terribly annoying when only a few files are open. I normally have 200-300 files open and scrolling back up to where X or the new file is takes a while.
