Windows x86-64 version

Post by tygrus78 »

Now that we have Intel, AMD and Microsoft with x86-64, I would like a 64bit version.

This could speed up text search/replace operations and increase to file size limitations (<4GB in Win32). Log files are getting larger and systems are getting more RAM.

AMD = Opteron, Athlon64 has AMD64.
Intel = Some Xeon and some Pentium... families (Intel call their copy of AMD64 = EM64T).
Microsft = Windows XP Professional for x64 Edition (home or work), Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition.

Started new thread for poll. I just noticed afterwards a previous topic.

If the current code is written the right way all that should be needed is a recompile with 64bit. This should be little or not cost and a license for Textpad should let you install the flavor of your choice.
