Font selection for keyword types

Could it be made possible to have font selection for keyword highlighting?
(may be restricted to fixed fonts all of the same size)
Things like bold and underline would be generally useful even in the absence of a full font facility.
The problem addressed is that there are often not enough really distinct colours for all cases.
