Full, true Unicode support

Post by komka_peter_3x »

It is time to became a true Unicode editor..
(Allowing at least 16 bits per char, internally.)

Editing "true" Unicode text, i.e. mixed content. (Chinese, cyrillic and greek symultaneously.)

Yes (I voted).

But.. a bit different thing (at least, seems to be):
>Unicode "conformance" is not the same thing as full support of Unicode

(and a bit "too longish paper".)

My site has translations for 26 various languages and even when using horrid looking fonts to edit with I still can't get them all to correctly display in Textpad.

Textpad has quickly become an every day tool for me but if I find something else that works (now) I will not cough up the cash and move along.

It would be nice, but first things first we need Unicode conformance. I think we should take it one step at a time.
