Overwriting native Increase/Decrease Indent functionality

Does anyone know of a way to overwrite TextPad's native Increase/Decrease Indent functionality (maybe via a macro)?

It is vital that this workaround allows different code to be called when [Tab] or [Shift]+[Tab] is pressed when text is highlighted.

Essentially, if I am to continue using TextPad, I need the bug mentioned in the following posts to be repaired immediately:
