How often would you use a drop down that allows you to select the syntax hiliting for the current document?

Selectable Syntax Hiliting (per document, at runtime)

Post by grahamparker »

I work with piles of SQL/XML files coming from/going to many different people, each of which have different standards for file extensions. It would be nice to have a drop down on the toolbar allowing selection of the document type, so that I don't have to register the extension and choose the syntax file each time. The problem really comes in when I have two docs from different people with the same extension that have different content type.

Press Alt-Return (document properties), switch to Syntax tab, select Syntax file you want to have applied, click on Ok.

Applying a document class

Post by ecombro »

(Just searching for a solution to the same issue.)

Thanks Mudguard... that's most useful.

Can it go a step further? as I also want to change the colors. Ideally I want to change the document class as suggested at the beginning of this post.

Cheers.
