I think that newly opened workspaces should be able to open in new instance of textpad

Important, even if speed/efficiency is decreased/degraded.

Open Workspaces in new Instance of Textpad

Post by VoxEcho »

Can there be a setting which will tell Textpad to always open workspaces in a new instance of Textpad. If I have a workspace that I am working with, and I click on a different workspace it launches in the most recently opened Textpad instance, closing out the workspace that is currently opened in it.

current work around is to open blank instance of textpad THEN open new workspace.

You could change your windows settings for opening TWS files

in Win 2K it is:
Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, File Types

search for TWS, click on Advanced, select the open command, then click on edit.

Add the "-m" switch to the command.
Remove (if existing) the -s switch and remove the check at "use DDE"

In the Textpad help file - under
Help - Help Topics - Contents - Reference Information - Command Line Parameters

And in the Help files for your Windows system.

Maybe the Windows Resurrection *) is interfering

i don't think so. none of my other associations are resetting. i am more inclined to think it's something that textpad is doing.
